Bitter/sweet Simp Phony
Welp it’s a bittersweet day at the Fun Dumpster household.
Yes we did get a new electric water heater installed this morning, so I’m now able to take the shower that I’ve been thinking about all week plus wash the dishes accumulating on the counter and as an added bonus comfort of mind we never hafta worry about the pilot blowing out again but alas, also unfortunately woe-begone’t tis also been deemed the day that I’m changing my email profile pic.
For maybe the last 9 or 10 years the photo associated with my main email account has been a shitty camera phone photo of the late (great) Charlie Vestal* with his face covered in Cheeze Whiz.
He had suggested we spray some of the foamy aerosol dairy product directly onto his face, you know, just cuz it would be funny. Plus I bet it also felt cool.
We got a video of the process, which I think is available in an old ‘music video’ we made for the Flavor Basket theme song (written by Max Power) so I’ll try to find it and link it here. (Update: I haven’t found it yet.)
Molly filmed as I blew it on his face. Or maybe I filmed while Molly sprayed on his face. I don’t remember rn but the video will remind us. Or Molly.
It’s been deemed by myself and my closest confidant that it’s probably time to have a more professional photo as my correspondence image. I’m gonna take one at the studio “soon” & unable to settle on another shitty phone pic, I’ve settled on the last frame from the movie UNCLE BUCK starring John Candy.
As an uncle ten times over, I can relate to his free-wheelin’ creative sense of a paternal instinct.
Uncle Buck is the underdog in all of us.
